Our veterinarian team and medical support staff will discuss all the benefits and risks with each pet owner during our candidate selection process. As with any procedure that requires using general anesthesia, there is always a risk during the harvesting process. However we discuss in detail, many of the precautionary steps we take prior to performing the stem-cell therapy procedure.
Utilizing "same-cell" recognition, the stem cells that are harvested from your pet are being re-administered back to your pet, and we find virtually no risk of an allergic reaction or rejections. In rare cases, there might be a mild immune reaction in the injected joint that should subside within a day or two.
